KATHMANDU: CPN (Maoist Center) Chairperson Pushpa Kamal Dahal and Nepali Congress leader Dr Shekhar Koirala held a meeting at Dahal’s residence in Khumaltar on Thursday.
The two leaders discussed contemporary political issues during the meeting, according to Dahal’s secretariat.
Dahal is the leader of the main opposition in the House of Representatives, while Dr Koirala leads the anti-establishment faction of the ruling coalition Nepali Congress (NC). Both leaders have consistently maintained that the government has failed to uphold good governance and deliver public services.
Dahal’s personal secretary, Govinda Acharya, said the discussion focused on current political developments and the government’s performance. Acharya stated that both leaders shared the view that the government has failed to function as per public expectations.
“The government has not been able to work as per public sentiment. Both leaders expressed concern that instead of addressing problems, the government has contributed to worsening the situation over the past year,” Acharya told Himal Press.
The meeting lasted over one and a half hours.
