KATHMANDU: Bharatpur Metropolitan City of Chitwan is starting a night market from this week to promote locally produced goods.
According to the metropolis, the market will be set up from Namaste Chowk to Mayor Chowk in Ward-2. It will open from 6-10 pm every Friday from this week.
The metropolis plans to provide exhibition stalls free of cost to residents of the ward. However, it will charge a nominal fee to exhibitors from other wards.
The night market aims to support and promote local businesses and products, according to officials of the metropolitan city.
The night market will feature stalls of local vegetables, fruits, handicrafts and clothes, among others. It will also feature food stalls.
It will have facilities like clean drinking water, toilet facilities, parking and 24-hour CCTV surveillance.
