KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress (NC) President Sher Bahadur Deuba has termed the occasional misunderstandings between the ruling coalition partners, CPN-UML, as natural.
Speaking to journalists in Bharatpur on Friday, Deuba said it was normal for coalition partners to have differing views. “Since UML is a different party from the NC, occasional disagreements are natural,” he said. “But the coalition government is moving forward based on mutual understanding.”
Deuba said it is not surprising that there are different interpretations of some government decisions. “There can be different explanations of the government’s actions, but those can be resolved through mutual discussion,” he added said.
Regarding the ‘Take and Pay’ Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) provision included in the budget, he said the government removed it as requested by his prty.
He also reiterated that the government’s decisions are based on shared consensus.
