KATHMANDU: The Election Commission (EC) has urged Nepali people whose names are missing from the voter list to register promptly.
Issuing a statement on Thursday, the EC said that since the date for the by-elections is being announced shortly, eligible Nepali citizens should register their names on time.
Citing Section 4, Subsection (2) and Clause (2) of the Voter List Act, 2016, the EC said that voter registrations will not be accepted for that particular election after the election date is announced.
The EC has started preparation to hold a by-election to fill vacant seats in the House of Representatives, provincial assemblies and ward chairpersons in some local governments.
