NC holding emergency meeting of Central Working Committee on Wednesday

KATHMANDU: The ruling Nepali Congress (NC) has called an emergency meeting of its Central Working Committee for Wednesday.

Chief Secretary of the NC Central Party Office, Krishna Prasad Paudel, said the meeting will convene at 8:30 am. He added that the emergency meeting has been called to pass a condolence resolution in honour of the late Dhundiraj Shastri, a former member of the Central Working Committee and a former minister, who passed away on Monday.

All office bearers, members, and invited members of the committee have been asked to attend the meeting, he added.

“The meeting has been called specifically to pass a condolence resolution for the late Shastri. That is why it has been termed ‘emergency’,” said Secretary Paudel.

Shastri died while undergoing treatment at Kathmandu Medical College (KMC) in Sinamangal. According to the party, his body will be kept at the central office from 9 am to 11 am on Wednesday for final tributes.
