KATHMANDU: Nepal Stock Exchange (Nepse) index fell 3.9 points, closing trading at 2,654.75 points on Tuesday.
Total turnover dropped by nearly half as only Rs 7.65 billion worth of shares were traded on the bourse compared to Rs 13.18 billion on Monday. A total of 16.4 million units of shares were traded through 70,077 transactions during the session.
Unit prices of 148 scrips went down during the session, while 99 advanced. Sanima Mai Hydropower Ltd posted the highest turnover of the session with Rs 749.66 million worth of shares traded. Butwal Power Company Ltd and Ngadi Group Power Ltd were next with turnovers of Rs 603.81 million and Rs 461.13 million, respectively.
Among trading groups, only three posted gains, while the remaining 10 ended the session in negative territory. Microfinance posted the highest growth of 1.1%, while Hotels & Tourism logged the biggest loss of 1.58%.
