BUTWAL: Police have arrested a man on the charge of killing his ex-wife and her two children.
Deepa Basyal (27) and her son and daughter were found dead at the man’s home near Horizon Chowk in Butwal-11 on Wednesday morning.
According to DSP Indra Rana of the Area Police Office, Butwal, Sujan Koirala, who is in his early 30s, has been arrested for investigation into the case. “The accused, whose marriage with the victim had ended in divorce, invited his former wife to his home and committed the crime at around 4 a.m.,” Rana said. “All three were strangled to death.”
Locals say the couple separated around 10 years ago. They added that the man was previously convicted of killing his own brother and was pardoned on the occasion of Constitution Day some years ago.
