KATHMANDU: Newly appointed Governor of the Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB), Dr Biswo Poudel, has taken the oath of office.
Chief Justice administered the oath of office and secrecy to Dr Poudel amid a ceremony held at the Supreme Court on Wednesday.
The Cabinet meeting held on Tuesday had picked economist Dr Poudel for the position from a three-member shortlist recommended by a panel led by Minister for Finance Bishnu Prasad Paudel.
Deputy Governor Dr Nimal Dhungana and former secretary Dinesh Bhattarai were the other two names in the shortlist.
