KATHMANDU: Nepal Stock Exchange (Nepse) closed 49.09 points higher at 2,677.45 points on Tuesday.
This was the second straight gain on the bourse after the benchmark index snapped a six-day losing run on Monday. Total turnover went up slightly to Rs 7.31 billion compared to Monday.
Unit prices of 229 scrips went up during the session, while 15 declined and one remained unchanged. Radhi Bidyut Company Ltd logged the highest turnover on Tuesday with Rs 418 million worth of shares traded. Next were Ngadi Group Power Ltd and Universal Power Company Ltd with turnovers of Rs 368.31 million and Rs 317.42 million, respectively.
All trading groups ended the session in the green. Hotels & Tourism posted the highest gain of 3.42%. Next were the Development Bank and Hydropower sub-indices, which ended 2.95% and 2.45% higher, respectively.
