Court extends custody of Mishra, 25 others by five days

KATHMANDU: The Kathmandu District Court has permitted the police to keep Rabindra Mishra, the senior vice-president of the Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP), and 25 others in custody for five more days.

Mishra was arrested on March 28 for investigation into his alleged role in inciting Tinkune violence which claimed two lives. Mishra was presented before the court on Tuesday for the eighth time to extend his detention.

The police are investigating Mishra on charges of sedition, organized crime and criminal mischief.

RPP General Secretary Dr. Dhawal Shamsher Rana, who was arrested alongside Mishra, is being investigated outside of custody due to health reasons.
