Two dead, two injured as jeep falls 400 meters off the road in Rukum West

KATHMANDU: Two individuals died and two others were injured in a jeep accident in Rukum West district on Monday.

According to the District Police Office, Rukum West, the jeep veered off the road and fell approximately 400 meters while traveling on the inner road connecting Simli to Timile in Sanibheri Rural Municipality-10. The accident is suspected to have been caused by brake failure.

The deceased have been identified as Nar Bahadur Oli (50) and his wife Leela Oli (44), both residents of Sanibheri Rural Municipality-10. While Nar Bahadur died on the spot, Leela succumbed to injuries while being transported to Chaurjahari Municipal Hospital.

Two others, Durga Oli (50) and jeep driver Lilamani Bhandari (44), both from Tulsipur Sub-Metropolitan City-7 of Dang, sustained serious injuries and are currently undergoing treatment at Chaurjahari Municipal Hospital.
