KATHMANDU: Nepal has said that it is deeply concerned about escalating tensions between India and Pakistan following the April 22 terrorist attack in Pahalgam, India, in which a Nepali national also lost his life.
Issuing a statement on Thursday, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said Nepal and India stood in solidarity and united in sharing grief and suffering during this tragic period.
“It may be recalled that Nepal had immediately and univocally condemned the barbaric terrorist attack, consistent with its resolute stance against all forms of terrorism,” the statement said. “Nepal stands together with all in the fight against terrorism. In line with its principled position, Nepal shall now allow any inimical forces to use its soil against its neighboring countries.”
The ministry also said that it hopes for the de-escalation of tension and affirms its commitment to lasting peace and stability in the region.
