KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress (NC) President Sher Bahadur Deuba has suggested to Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Finance, Bishnu Prasad Paudel, to adopt austerity measures in the upcoming budget, considering the country’s economic situation.
Deuba gave his suggestion on the budget during a meeting with Paudel on Monday.
“The NC President has given his suggestion to prepare the budget by ensuring maximum utilization of resources,” Paudel told Himal Press.
According to the finance ministry, the two discussed the upcoming budget and the appointment of the Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) governor.
“With the policies and programs already announced, the discussion focused on budget preparation, its size and the governor’s appointment,” Paudel added.
