KATHMANDU: The evaluation of answer sheets for of the Secondary Education Examination (SEE) has begun at 50 centers across the country.

According to Dr Ganesh Prasad Bhattarai, the Examination Controller for Class 10 under the National Examination Board (NEB), 30,000 teachers have been mobilized for the evaluation.

The evaluation of answer sheets started nearly a month later this year than in previous years due to the Kathmandu-centric protest of school teachers. The answer sheets are evaluated by subject-expert teachers mobilized by the District Education Coordination Units.

The board aims to complete the evaluation within 15 days.

“Expert teachers have been mobilized for the evaluation. Although we cannot specify an exact timeline, our target is to complete the evaluation within 15 days,” Bhattarai added.

The NEB earlier announced that results would be published by June 22. However, delays in the evaluation process are likely to cause a slight postponement in the announcement.

In previous years, the evaluation of SEE answer sheets would be completed by the second week of April.

A total of 514,071 students participated in the SEE.
