Ambssador Ghimire presents letters of credence to King Charles

KATHMANDU: Newly-appointed ambassador to the United Kingdom, Chandra Kumar Ghimire, presented his letters of credence to King Charles III amid a ceremony at Buckingham Palace on Thursday.

On the occasion, King Charles recalled the 209-year-long diplomatic ties between the two countries and expressed the UK’s continued support for Nepal’s development priorities. He also shared personal memories from his visits to Nepal.

Congratulating Ambassador Ghimire on his appointment, King Charles expressed commitment to further strengthening bilateral relations between Nepal and the UK.

Ambassador Ghimire, in his remarks, expressed gratitude for the UK’s ongoing support for Nepal’s socio-economic development. He also conveyed best wishes from President Ram Chandra Paudel and Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli for the well-being of the King and the prosperity of the British people.

Ghimire is Nepal’s 23rd envoy to the UK since the establishment of Nepal’s diplomatic mission in London in 1934.
