KATHMANDU: Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) Chairperson Rajendra Lingden has clarified that he would not join any committee formed by Navaraj Subedi or others advocating for the restoration of the monarchy.
Speaking after the party’s Executive Committee meeting on Tuesday, Lingden added that RPP stands to benefit from activities of forces working in favor of the monarchy.
The meeting decided to hold an additional protest campaign in Kathmandu Valley. Lingden said that the party would intensify its protests to pressure the government into addressing its demands.
He added that the party’s Central Mobilization Committee will finalize and publicize the programs for the upcoming protests and that the upcoming movement in support of the monarchy will be decisive.
The meeting also called upon all like-minded forces to join the movement led by the RPP. Chairman Lingden emphasized that the current government has failed in all sectors.
