
KATHMANDU: Nepal Stock Exchange (Nepse) index extended its losing run into the third straight session, closing 7.66 points lower at 2,697.04 points – the lowest since February 13.
Turnover also fell to Rs 4.34 billion – the lowest since January 12 – with 8.23 million units traded through 50,834 transactions.
Unit prices of 153 scrips declined during the session, while 86 advanced and four remained unchanged. Himalayan Reinsurance Ltd logged the highest turnover of the session with Rs 321.11 million worth of shares traded. Next were Ghalemdi Hydro Ltd and Nepal Reinsurance Company Ltd with turnovers of Rs 227.21 million and Rs 180.39 million, respectively.
Except for the Others sub-index, which posted a nominal gain of 0.11%, all trading groups ended the session in the red. The biggest loss came from the Life Insurance sub-index, which was down by 0.7%.
