KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress (NC) President Sher Bahadur Deuba has said that there is no alternative but to move forward with it if some people do not like federalism. He added that the country cannot revert from its current system.
Speaking at a program organized by the NC’s Federal Affairs Coordination Department in Sanepa on Monday, Deuba said there is a need to make federalism more effective. “Since the country has already adopted the federal system, it is crucial to ensure its effectiveness,” he added.
Deuba also said that it is important to grant necessary roles and authority to provincial and local levels in line with the federal structure. “Unity of the country must not be disrupted under any circumstances,” he said, adding that the enthusiasm among the people across the country seen during the NC’s 100-day campaign should be further advanced.
He also directed party workers to work towards securing a majority in the upcoming election.
