KATHMANDU: Police have arrested a man, who allegedly shot Lal Mohammad in Gothatar of Kathmandu in 2022, from Tokha on Sunday evening.
SSP Ramesh Basnet, chief of Kathmandu Valley Crime Investigation Office, told Himal Press over phone that the man has been identified as Guddu Patel. “Police had to open fire as he tried to flee when a team from Kathmandu Valley Crime Investigation Office approached him,” SSP Basnet said.
Mohammad, who was involved in the garment business, was shot dead in the head, chest and stomach by a shooter who came on a motorcycle.
Indian media reported that Mohammad was involved in a fake Indian currency racket in Kathmandu.
