KATHMANDU: CPN (Maoist Center) Chairperson Pushpa Kamal Dahal has accused the government and middlemen of conspiring to create an artificial shortage of fertilizers.
Speaking at an interaction at Tilathi Koiladi Rural Municipality-8 of Saptari on Friday, he claimed that middlemen, in collusion with the government, have deliberately created a fertilizer shortage to maximize profits.
“The fertilizer crisis has emerged as a major problem, especially in the Terai-Madhesh region, after the formation of the coalition government of Nepali Congress and CPN-UML,” Dahal said. “This situation has arisen because the government and middlemen have conspired to exploit farmers and profit from their plight.”
Locals of the area urged Dahal to take initiatives in resolving challenges such as fertilizer shortages, irregular electricity supply and lack of irrigation, among others.
