
KATHMANDU: Myanmar has secured a spot in the final of the 2025 International Women’s Championship with a 5-0 thrashing of the Kyrgyz Republic at the Dasharath Stadium in Kathmandu on Thursday.
Yoon Wadi Hlaing and May Htet Lu scored a brace each for Myanmar, while Sandar Lin scored one.
Myanmar, which scored four goals in the first half, managed to score only one in the second half.
The East Asian nation defeated Lebanon 3-1 in the opening fixture of the championship on Monday.
Myanmar is at the top of the table with six points from two games. It will now meet hosts Nepal in the final league-round match.
Nepal, which has three points from one game, will play its second game against Lebanon on Thursday evening. If Nepal wins, it will join Myanmar in the final of the championship.
Nepal defeated the Kyrgyz Republic 1-0 in its first match on Monday.
The top two teams of the league stage will progress to the final.
