
KATHMANDU: The government has announced the recipients of the Prime Minister’s National Talent Award, 2025.
The names of recipients were announced on Wednesday during the National Democracy Day celebrations in Kathmandu. The recipients include Dr. Chirring Lama (Sindhupalchok) in the field of telemedicine, Dr. Biraj Singh Thapa (Morang) in science and technology innovation, Purnima Shrestha (Gorkha) in mountaineering, and Abhash Maskey (Kathmandu) and Hari Ram Shrestha (Gorkha) in science and technology.
Other recipients include Dr. Om Murti Anil (Mahottari) in the medical field, Savitra Bhandari (Lamjung) in sports, Rabindra Puri (Bhaktapur) in heritage conservation, and Dilshova Shrestha (Kathmandu) and Ramji Adhikari (Gorkha) in humanitarian and social service.
They will be awarded later by organizing a special ceremony.
The award was established by a cabinet meeting in 2018. A National Talent Award Fund has been established with $100,000 provided to Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli by the Korean government and Rs 10 million contributed by the government.
Three talents were awarded Rs 500,000 each in 2019. The award process was subsequently halted due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
