Restore Lamichhane’s parliamentary position, demand RSP lawmakers

KATHMANDU: Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) lawmakers have demanded the reinstatement of party president Rabi Lamichhane’s position as a Member of the House of Representatives.

Speaking during the zero hour of the House of Representatives on Friday, RSP lawmakers urged the Speaker to lift action against Lamichhane.

RSP lawmaker Dol Prasad Aryal accused political rivals of fabricating false charges against Lamichhane out of vengeance. “Since he is not in custody, I urge the Speaker to reinstate his parliamentary position immediately,” Aryal said.

Similarly, RSP lawmaker Binita Kathayat questioned whether keeping Lamichhane in custody helped the government to return deposits to cooperative victims. She also criticized the lack of serious efforts to address the concerns of cooperative depositors.
