KATHMANDU: Nepal is hosting the 3rd Meeting of the BIMSTEC Network of Tour Operators in Kathmandu on February 6-7.
The gathering will bring together esteemed representatives of national tourism organizations and private stakeholders from all BIMSTEC member countries – Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Myanmar, Sri Lanka, Thailand, and Nepal.
According to the Nepal Tourism Board, the meeting will serve as a vital platform for discussions on enhancing regional cooperation, promoting sustainable tourism, and exploring new opportunities within the tourism sector across BIMSTEC nations.
Regional tourism development through effective destination management, addressing industry challenges, and identifying collaborative solutions are the key agendas of the meeting.
Likewise, discussions will focus on the operational modalities of the BIMSTEC Buddhist Circuits and BIMSTEC Cruise Circuits, as well as visa facilitation measures to enhance intra-regional tourism.
The second meeting of the BIMSTEC Network of Tour Operators was held virtually in Colombo, Sri Lanka, on December 8-9, 2020.
