KATHMANDU: Bal Bahadur Ramtel has been elected as the President of the Nepal Samajbadi Student Union (Naya Shakti).
The 2nd National Convention of the union held last week elected Ramtel to the position.
Ramtel secured 126 of the 172 votes cast. The other candidate Sadhuram Nepali secured 33 votes.
Although Tanka Prasad Dhamala and Om Narayan Mahato had also announced to contest for the position initially, they withdrew their names later.
