KATHMANDU: The Nepali Army has organized a an exhibition of photographs and military euqipment to mark Army Day.
The exhibition, which began on Tuesday at the Army Pavilion, will run until Friday.
According to the Directorate of Public Relations and Information of the Nepali Army, the exhibition features photographs, weapons, and equipment that showcases the army’s activities from the past to the present.
Chief of Army Staff (CoAS) General Ashok Raj Sigdel inaugurated the exhibition amid a ceremony on Tuesday.
The exhibition features 29 stalls showcasing various activities of the Nepali Army, such as military uniforms, military bands, air services, horseback riding, jungle and mountain warfare, the role of special forces, national parks and wildlife conservation, peacekeeping missions, development and construction projects, disaster management, sports, military schools, and the National Cadet Corps.
The event was attended by the President of the Army Wives Association, high-ranking officials, the Inspector General of the Armed Police Force, the Chief Investigation Director of the National Investigation Department, military associates, officers, and media personnel.
During the ceremony, CoAS Sigdel awarded prizes and certificates to three outstanding civilian photographers of the Nepali Army Photo Competition – 2025, three units of the Nepali Army, and one photographer from the Directorate of Public Relations and Information. He also honored the members of the evaluation committee with letters of appreciation.
Army Spokesperson Brigadier General Gaurav Kumar KC said that the exhibition aims to provide the general public with an opportunity to observe the diverse activities of the Nepali Army up close.
Entry to the exhibition is free, and it will be open daily from 10 am to 5 pm.
