KATHMANDU: The Nepal Stock Exchange (Nepse) index snapped a three-day losing run, closing trading 24.50 points higher at 2,657.77 points on Tuesday.
Unit prices of 177 companies advanced during the session, while 60 declined and six remained unchanged. Saptakoshi Development Bank Ltd logged the highest turnover of the session with Rs 382.13 million worth of shares traded. Share prices of four companies hit the positive circuit of 10% during the session.
Nepal Reinsurance Company Ltd and NRN Infrastructure & Development Ltd were next with turnovers of Rs 290.39 million and Rs 288.73 million, respectively. However, Himalayan Reinsurance Ltd was at the top in terms of the number of transactions ahead of Ngadi Group Power Ltd and Universal Power Company Ltd.
All trading groups posted gains on Tuesday. The biggest gain came from the Development Bank sub-index which was up by 4.07%. Next were Finance and Others sub-indices which were up by 1.88% and 1.74%, respectively.
Daily turnover improved to Rs 9.4 billion during the session with 19.68 million units of shares traded through 95,097 transactions.
