KATHMANDU: Minister for Water Supply Pradeep Yadav has said that the government was making needful preparations to supply water from the Melamchi River to Kathmandu Valley throughout the year.
During a discussion with ministry staff and officials on Wednesday, Yadav instructed officials to ensure that people get clean water throughout the year. “Let’s expedite our work so that people can feel our efforts. The ministry will provide necessary support and coordination,” he said. “People in the capital city should have access to pure and clean water year-round, so let’s create the environment accordingly.”
He also instructed ministry officials to implement the agreement between the government and the people of Helambu, Sindhupalchok.
“We must take necessary steps to implement past agreements made with the people of Helambu when diverting water from Melamchi River to Kathmandu,” he said.
