KATHMANDU: Milan Acharya has admitted to killing his father Kul Prasad (56) and his younger brother Prabin (22) at his rented apartment in Balkot of Bhaktapur on Saturday.
After finding the two dead bodies in separate locked rooms on Monday morning, police intensified the search for Milan. He was arrested from Maharajgunj on Tuesday.
Kul Prasad, a native of Rupakot Majhuagadhi Municipality-1 in Khotang, was serving as the officiating chief of the District Post Office, Khotang. He had been on leave from his office since December 13 and was staying with his sons at their apartment.
“Preliminary investigations indicate that MIlan killed his father and younger brother. He has also confessed to the crime. Further investigations are ongoing,” said SSP Sanuram Bhattarai of the Kathmandu Valley Crime Investigation Office.
According to the District Police Range, Bhaktapur, Milan committed the murders, locked the apartment, and fled the scene on Sunday morning.
