KATHMANDU: International League T20 side Desert Vipers has signed Nepali batting all-rounder Kushal Malla.
He will join the Vipers as a replacement for Netherlands all-rounder Bas de Leede, who has been ruled out of the tournament due to injury, according to a statement posted on the Desert Vipers’ website on Tuesday.
The 20-year-old, who captained the Chitwan Rhinos as a marquee player, was one of the outstanding players in the inaugural Nepal Premier League (NPL). He scored 223 runs and took nine wickets in eight innings in the NPL.
Malla made his ODI debut for Nepal before he turned 16, playing against the USA in February 2020. He has scored 768 runs in 35 ODI innings, including one century and four half-centuries. Likewise, he is Nepal’s fifth-highest run-scorer in T20Is, with 917 runs from 47 matches, including one century and four fifties.
Similarly, Malla has taken 24 wickets in ODIs and 19 in T20 Internationals for Nepal.
