Nepal, Sri Lanka match abandoned

KATHMANDU: Nepal and Sri Lanka shared points as their 2024 ACC U-19 Women’s Asia Cup Super Four match on Thursday was washed out by rain.

The umpires called for covers due to heavy rainfall just after the first over was bowled. Nepal had taken one wicket, giving away just one run in the first over. With no sign of the rain stopping, the match was declared abandoned.

Nepal will play against Bangladesh in the Super Four on Friday.

Nepal and Sri Lanka qualified for the Super Four as runners-up in their respective groups, while Bangladesh and India progressed to the Super Four as winners of their respective groups.

The top two teams of the Super Four will play in the final.

Nepal got the opportunity play in the Asia Cup after qualifying for the U-19 Women’s World Cup from Asia.
