KATHMANDU: The Education, Health and Information Technology Committee of the House of Representatives has formed four subcommittees simultaneously.
A meeting held on Wednesday decided to form Subcommittee on Health and Population Studies, Subcommittee on Youth and Sports Studies, Subcommittee on Education, Science and Technology Studies, and Subcommittee on Communication and Information Technology Studies.
According to Committee Chairperson Ammar Bahadur Thapa, Dr Toshima Karki, Deepa Sharma, Chhabi Lal Bishwakarma, Dr. Chandrakanta Bhandari, Mahendra Kumar Rai, Rekha Sharma and Ram Prakash Chaudhary are members of the Subcommittee on Health and Population Studies.
Similarly, the Subcommittee of Youth and Sports Studies consists of Dr. Chandrakanta Bhandari, Prabhu Hajara, Deepa Sharma, Dig Bahadur Limbu, Mahendra Raya Yadav, Dr Toshima Karki and Binita Kumari Singh.
Likewise, Devendra Poudel, Dr Kalu Ram Rai, Sarita Bhushal, Sangita Mandal Dhanuk, Lila Devi Bokhim Limbu, Sumana Shrestha and Ram Prakash Chaudhary and members of the the Subcommittee on Education, Science and Technology Studies.
The Subcommittee on Communication and Information Technology Studies comprises Chhabilal Bishwakarma, Ishwari Gharti, Dhanraj Gurung, Lila Devi Bokhim Limbu, Rekha Sharma, Sumana Shrestha and Bina Jaiswal.
According to Chairperson Thapa, the subcommittees would study policies and programs, resource mobilization and management, protection of public property, government assurances, delegated legislation and other activities within their jurisdiction.
As part of their study process, the subcommittees can conduct on-site inspections, interactions and other parliamentary monitoring-related activities.
The subcommittees, which has a year-long tenure, will have to submit their progress report every three months.
