KATHMANDU: The Embassy of Qatar organized a dinner reception in Kathmandu on Tuesday on the eve of Qatar’s National Day.
Vice President Ramsahay Prasad Yadav and Qatar’s Ambassador to Nepal, Mishaal bin Mohammed Al-Ansari, jointly cut a cake to inaugurate the event. Speaking on the occasion, Vice President Yadav extended his best wishes to the people of Qatar on their National Day.
Likewise, Ambassador Al-Ansari highlighted the strong diplomatic relations between Nepal and Qatar. He also praised the significant contributions of Nepali workers to Qatar’s development and prosperity.
Issuing a statement, the embassy said Qatar’s National Day is being celebrated with great enthusiasm within the country and by Qatari embassies worldwide.
“The Qatar National Day commemorates the unification of Qatar under the leadership of its founder, Sheikh Jassim bin Mohammed Al Thani,” the embassy said in the statement. “Sheikh Jassim laid the foundation for the modern state for the modern State of Qatar as a unified country in 1878.”
