KATHMANDU: Nepal Stock Exchange (Nepse) index extended its losing run to a third straight session, closing trading 45.93 points lower at 2,689 points on Sunday.
This is the first time that the benchmark Nepse index fell below the 2,700-point level since November 25 when the Nepse index closed at 2,683.24 points.
Share prices of 214 companies fell on Sunday, while 27 advanced and three remained unchanged. NRN Infrastructure & Development Ltd logged the highest turnover of Rs 326.46 million. Nepal Finance Ltd and River Falls Power Ltd followed with turnovers of Rs 156.88 million and Rs 156.53 million, respectively.
All trading groups ended the session in red on Sunday. The biggest loss came from the Life Insurance sub-index which was down by 3.07%. Trading and Hydropower sub-indices were down 2.13% and 1.98%, respectively.
Securities worth Rs 7.46 billion were traded on the bourse through 81,404 transactions on Sunday.
