Maoist Center’s Narpura Budha elected Putha Uttarganga vice chair

KATHMANDU: Narpura Budha of the CPN (Maoist Centre) has been elected Vice Chairperson of Putha Uttarganga Rural Municipality in Rukum East district.

In the by-elections held on Sunday, Budha received 3,627 votes, defeating the common candidate of the Nepali Congress and CPN-UML, Kesh Kumari Tulachan, by more than 1,500 votes.

The position became vacant following the demise of Bhupendra Budha, who was elected from the Maoist Centre in the 2022 local body elections, in a road accident on September 13.
