KATHMANDU: Bhumpani Pun Magar from Nepali Congress (NC) has been elected chairperson of Ward-4 of Runtigadhi Rural Municipality of Rolpa.
Magar, who secured 643 votes, defeated Begam Pun of CPN-UML in the by-election held on Sunday. Pun received 535 votes.
Similarly, Naresh Jung Singh from CPN (Maoist Center), Pahal Bahadur Oli from Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) and Him Bahadur Pun of Rastriya Swatantra Party(RSP) received 70, 10 and 7 votes respectively.
The position became vacant following the demise of Tanka Bahadur Pun in July last year. Pun was elected to the position from NC in the local body election of 2022.
