KATHMANDU: The Safa Nepal app, developed by Clean Up Nepal, has been honored with the prestigious National Energy Globe Award-Nepal.
The app was selected from 2,000 projects from 141 countries, according to a statement issued by Clean Up Nepal. “This global recognition emphasizes the reflective impact of the Safa Nepal app in fostering cleaner, greener and more sustainable communities. It will now be featured in a global database that
showcases groundbreaking environmental solutions, inspiring global action toward sustainability,” the organization said in the statement.
The app offers a user-friendly platform combining a web-based dashboard and mobile application to empower local governments and citizens. It enables municipalities to conduct evidence-based analyses, track waste collection, and address public concerns about issues like illegal dumping and burning. By streamlining data management and public participation, the app drives impactful reforms in Nepal’s waste sector.
Founded in 2014, Clean Up Nepal has dedicated itself to environmental sustainability through initiatives in waste management, climate action and circular economy.
