POKHARA: One person died and 29 others were injured when two passenger buses collided on the Prithvi Highway in Tanahun on Sunday.
A passenger bus coming to Pokhara from Kathmandu crashed head-on with another bus heading to Nepalgunj from Pokhara near the Gore Chautara bend in Bandipur Rural Municipality-5 at around 3:40 pm on Sunday, according to District Police Office, Tanahun.
Ram Bahadur Pariyar (39), the driver of the bus coming to Pokhara, died while undergoing treatment at Laxmi Hospital in Dumre, according to DSP Ashok Thapa of District Police Office, Tanahun. Pariyar was a resident of Rishing Patan in Tanahun.
The injured passengers are receiving treatment at Laxmi Hospital and Moti Hospital. Riyad KC (18), who was seriously injured in the accident, has been sent to Chitwan Medical College for further treatment, police reported.
