KATHMANDU: Nepal Stock Exchange (Nepse) index posted a nominal 4.98-point gain, closing trading at 2,753.76 points on Sunday—the first trading day of the week.
Shares worth Rs 11.76 billion were traded on Sunday through 113,252 transactions. Unit prices of 145 scrips advanced on the day, while 92 declined, and six remained unchanged.
Ngadi Group Power Ltd logged the highest turnover of the session, with Rs 451.71 million worth of shares traded. Next were Smriddhi Finance Company Ltd and Janaki Finance Ltd, with turnovers of Rs 418.28 million and Rs 354.09 million, respectively.
Among trading groups, nine posted gains, while four ended the day in the red. The biggest gain came from the Hotels & Tourism sub-index, which was up by 2.21 points. Manufacturing & Processing, on the other hand, registered the highest loss of 1.13%.
