KATHMANDU: The body of a Slovak climber, who had been missing in the Langtang region of Rasuwa for over a week, has been found.
According to Keshav Bhattarai, chief of the District Police Office, Rasuwa, the body of Ondrej Huserka has been found in a 30-meter crevasse near Lantang Lirung peak. “The body has been sent to TU Teaching Hospital in Kathmandu for post-mortem examination,” Bhattarai told RSS news agency.
According to Planet Mountain.Com, Huserka went missing after having made the first ascent of the mountain’s east face with Czech alpinist Marek Holecek. The pair was climbing the mountain alpine style and reached the 7,234-meter summit at 11 am on October 30.
“They immediately began their descent and it was during this that Huserka fell into a crevasse,” the portal added.
