KATHMANDU: The market dipped slightly on the first trading day of Tihar as the benchmark index shed a negligible 0.21 points, closing at 2,677.40 points on Tuesday.
Share prices of 113 companies advanced on the day, while 123 declined and seven remained unchanged. Nepal Finance Company logged the highest turnover of the session, with shares worth Rs 299.08 million traded. Next were Sanima GIC Insurance Company Ltd and NLG Insurance Company Ltd, with turnovers of Rs 161.18 million and Rs 158.40 million, respectively.
Among trading groups, seven posted gains, while six others ended the session in the red. The biggest gain came from the Non-life Insurance sub-index, which was up by 1.06%, while the Banking sub-index posted a loss of 0.81%.
The market logged a turnover of Rs 4.2 billion through 47,515 transactions on Tuesday.
