Three dead, eight injured in Salyan road accident

KATHMANDU: Three people died and eight others were injured when a mini truck met with an accident in Salyan district on Monday evening.

According to District Police Office, Salyan, the mini truck, which was coming to Sinbang from Dubede in Kapurkot Rural Municipality-6, fell 150 meters off the road.

The deceased has been identified as Govardhan Khadka (14), Anil Bhandari (12) and Sirjana Basnet (15). Two of them died on the spot, while the other succumbed to injuries while being rushed for treatment, police say.

Khuma Basnet (13), Nanda Basnet (35), Jit Sagar Basnet (17), Sanjiv Basnet (17), Shankar Khadka (29), Dev Bahadur Basnet (35), Hikmat Thapa (22) and driver Man Bahadur Bhandari (24).

The condition of some injured is said to be serious.
