Police probing email allegedly sent by GB Rai: Minister Lekhak

KATHMANDU: Minister for Home Affairs Ramesh Lekhak has said that an investigation is underway regarding the authenticity of an email allegedly sent by Gitendra Babu (GB) Rai – the fugitive chairperson of Gorkha Media Network involved in the cooperative fraud case.

Minister Lekhak briefed senior leaders in the meeting of the ruling coalition parties on Friday that the Cyber Bureau of Nepal Police is investigating the email reportedly sent by Rai.

A leader, who was present in the meeting, said that Minister Lekhak hinted that further investigation would be conducted into Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) President Rabi Lamichhane based on the claims made in the email.

The email, allegedly sent under GB Rai’s name to several media outlets, claims that the cooperative’s money was invested in television operations under Lamichhane’s plan.
