KATHMANDU: Nepal Stock Exchange (Nepse) index extended its gaining streak for a fourth straight session on Thursday, posting a marginal gain of 2.47 points to 2,745.36 points.
Share prices of 142 companies declined on the day, while 89 advanced, and 13 remained unchanged. Kumari Bank Ltd logged the highest turnover of the session, with Rs 331.39 million worth of shares traded. Following were HIDCL Promoter Shares and Himalayan Reinsurance Ltd, with turnovers of Rs 266.21 million and Rs 202.34 million, respectively.
Among trading groups, six ended the session in red, while seven appreciated. The biggest loss came from the Trading sub-index, which was down by 2.1%, while the Mutual Funds sub-index posted the highest gain of 1.4%.
Shares worth Rs 7.19 billion were traded through 80,595 transactions on the last trading day of the week.
