KATHMANDU: An arrest warrant has been issued for suspended Nepal Police Inspector Binu Kumari Shahi.
Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Shekhar Khanal, chief of the District Police Range, Lalitpur, confirmed that the Lalitpur District Court has issued the arrest warrant.
Shahi was suspended from her position while she was serving as the chief of the Metropolitan Police Sector, Bhaisepati, in Lalitpur. The district court granted permission for Shahi’s arrest after evidence emerged of her involvement in a scheme to extort money through honey trapping.

Following this, Shahi was suspended from her position and an investigation was initiated against her.
Police have also arrested Sushma BK, Taj Mul Islam, Bhimadevi Thapa, and Police Assistant Head Constable Mahendra Hamal in connection with the same incident.
