PM Oli briefs Prez on his US visit

KATHMANDU: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli met President Ram Chandra Paudel on Monday and briefed the latter about his recent visit to the US.

Oli informed President Poudel that his trip to the 79th session of the United Nations General Assembly was highly productive and effective. “Nepal successfully drew attention to new arguments about rising sea levels and preserving mountains in the global stage,” Oli said in the meeting.

The Prime Minister also briefed President Paudel about other sidelines meetings that he attended.

Minister for Foreign Affairs Dr Arzu Rana Deuba, PM’s political adviser Bishnu Rimal and Foreign Secretary Sewa Lamsal, among others, were also present on the occasion.

During the meeting, President Paudel those in power to address the challenges of good governance and employment and create conditions for youth to remain in the country. “President Poudel urged political parties to work together to solve the country’s problems,” the President’s press adviser Kiran Pokharel said. “The President also stressed the importance of expediting relief and reconstruction efforts for those affected by recent floods and landslides.”

Responding to the President, PM Oli expressed commitment to strengthening democracy by addressing current complexities and ensuring good governance.
