IME Group entities provide Rs 50 million to disaster relief fund

KATHMANDU: Global IME Bank and IME Group entities have jointly contributed Rs 50 million to the Prime Minister’s Disaster Relief Fund.

Chandra Prasad Dhakal, chairperson of the two institutions, handed over the check for the amount to Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli on Sunday, according to a company statement.

According to the statement, Global IME Bank alone contributed Rs 45 million, while IME Ltd provided Rs 2 million, and IGI Prudential Insurance and IME Life each chipped in with Rs 1.5 million.

Speaking on occasion, Dhakal said that the assistance was provided to support the government’s relief and rescue efforts for people affected by the recent disaster-related incidents.
