KATHMANDU: Nepal Stock Exchange (Nepse) index went down by 22.36 points and closed trading at 2,464.4 points on Sunday, the first trading day of the week.
Although the market dipped initially, it recovered and hit an intraday high of 2,494.32 points. The benchmark index, however, lost momentum and eventually ended the session 0.89% lower.
NLG Insurance Company Ltd logged the highest turnover of the session, with Rs 159.23 million worth of shares traded. Next were CEDB Hydropower Company Ltd and Api Power Company Ltd, with turnovers of Rs 150.56 million and Rs 137 million, respectively.
Among trading groups, all posted losses except for Manufacturing & Processing, which was up by 1.03%. The biggest loss came from the Trading sub-index, which was down by 2.97%.
Securities worth Rs 4.05 billion were traded on the bourse on Sunday, the lowest since June 20.
