KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress (NC) General Secretary Gagan Kumar Thapa has said that the government’s common minimum program will be unveiled on Wednesday evening.

Speaking at a program organized on the occasion of National Education Day in Kathmandu, Thapa said early passage of the education law will also be included in the common minimum program.

Thapa is a member of the task force that the Nepali Congress (NC) and CPN-UML formed last week to prepare the government’s common minimum program.

Thapa also said preparations were underway to pass the Education Act in the upcoming session of parliament. “I have suggested members of the committee studying the act to unanimously pass the Act,” Thapa said. “The committee has two months to forge consensus on contentious issues.”

Thapa said he was hopeful that the committee would finalize the Act by that time.
