POKHARA: An Indian tourist died by drowning in a swimming pool on Tuesday afternoon, police say.
Dewan Singh (23) of Lucknow, India, died in the swimming of Power House Resort in Pokhara-17. Singh suddenly went under the water while he was swimming. According to the District Police Office, Kaski, although his friends immediately pulled him out and rushed him to the hospital, the doctors at Gandaki Medical College declared him dead on arrival.
Singh’s body has been handed over to his father Rukmendra Pratap Singh after post-mortem examination at Manipal Teaching Hospital. The family has already left for India with the boddy.
According to eyewitnesses, the resort’s swimming pool did not have a lifeguard on duty to prevent such unfortunate incidents.
